Originally recorded in 1994, when the idea of mixing jazz and hiphop was nearly illegal, Robert presented this proposal to the famous Verve record label as a release for the 75th birthday of Charlie Parker.

Excitement ensured at the label, as the project made it way up to Verve's president, who listened and responded: "Why do we need this #$%*t? We have the real Charlie Parker."

Except for the fact that Charlie Parker had died forty years earlier, he had a good point, i.e. "We HAD the real Charlie Parker" would have been more accurate.

Regardless, a portion of the 40 tracks recorded in these session survive, with world-class performances from Angelo & Glenn.
